Reporting on Individual Achievement
At PHA we use the BRIGANCE Early Childhood Screens. Early Childhood Screens allow teachers to easily identify potential developmental delays and giftedness in language, motor, self-help, social-emotional, and cognitive skills all in 10–15 minutes per child.
Children with Food Allergies
Prospect Heights Academy is able to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions that are based on medical advice. Parents will be asked to notify the family worker about any allergies. The family worker then notifies the teachers and other families, posts signs in the classroom, and can offer information about alternative choices
Toilet Training at PHA
Children do NOT need to be potty trained to attend PHA. The teachers will ask children to play a more active role in their diaper changing and present sitting on the potty as an option for those who feel ready. The teachers try to meet the children where they are developmentally, while also encouraging them to try. Parents provide diapers and wipes for their child.
